Environmental activity Polfa Grodzisk pays particular attention to natural environment protection. Pharmaceutical manufacturing carries a number of risks which our Company tries to reduce using the most modern technologies available.

In the course of planning and implementation of our investments and development projects, we attach great importance to the environmental protection tasks. Due to modernization and containment of technological processes and the use of modern systems and filters, we have considerably reduced the amount of solid and liquid waste, and decreased the gas emissions.  

In 1994, Polfa Grodzisk joined, being the first Polish pharmaceutical Company to do so, the Clean Manufacture Programme. Our engineers’ team worked out elimination methods for methanol and other chemical waste generated in the process of half-finished product regeneration. As a result of that, we decreased the amount of liquid waste by 50 per cent, technological gases by 88 per cent, energy gases and dust by 90 per cent thus reducing  the energy consumption by 25 per cent.

The Chapter of the Polish Cleaner Manufacture Record appreciated the environmental protection efforts of Polfa Grodzisk granting it the certificate of approval for the Cleaner Manufacture Programme introduction as the Environmental Management System Strategy.

Treating the environmental protection not as an individual but global problem, Polfa Grodzisk decided to co-finance the sewage treatment plant building that serves both the Company and the regional inhabitants.
